Chalet Le Trois Ours

Description

The beautifully cosy “Three Bears” self-catered chalet is situated in the hamlet of Les Albertans. Located between Lake Montriond and the Ardent lift station, it is a 10 minute walk to the ski bus and the lake restaurants, and a 10 minute drive into Morzine. This is the perfect chalet for those families or couples who want to get away from it all and relax in the tranquil wilderness of the Alpine foothills of Avoriaz. It is also a great place to spend the week for those who want to be the first on the slopes each morning, as you are only 3 minutes drive/bus ride from the heart of the Avoriaz ski area, Les Lindarets. One has the choice of driving to the large Ardent car park or catching the free ski bus from the end of your road which goes every 30 minutes.

This warm and charming self-catering chalet has two cosy bedrooms on the second floor – one double and a twin. There are two beautiful en-suite bathrooms to service each of these – one of which has a bath, and both, a shower. Heated towel rails and mood lighting make these little bathrooms the perfect place to hide and unwind after another exciting day on the slopes!

There is a third bedroom on the ground floor in which the beds can either be a double or two singles. There is another shower room on this floor too.

On the first floor there is an open plan kitchen/living/diner. The kitchen is modern and well equipped and leads onto a an L-shaped lounge with a very comfy sofa situated in front of a stunning wood burner. A plasma TV and DVD player ensures that you can watch movies in front of the fire if you wish. There is a WC on this floor.

There is seating in the dining area for 8 people.

There is a fabulous ski hire shop based at the bottom of the Ardent lift who will let you keep your skis and ski boots there each day if you want them to – making the day as simple for you as possible.

There is car parking right outside the chalet. The last 20 metres of the driveway to the chalet is up a small incline, which can be slippery in the winter months. An alternative parking area, which is snow-ploughed and gritted daily after snow falls, is available about 50 metres away and is accessible directly from the road.

**One set of towels and linen per person is included in the price**

From The Howes

Overall

We really enjoyed our week in this lovely chalet which is very traditional and cosy. The kitchen was really well equipped, we really appreciated the spacious, and warm, bootroom for all our ski-ing gear and a separate place to store our skis and we particularly liked the fact that each bedroom had its own bath/shower/toilet facilties. A lovely quiet location and the possibility of ski-ing down the track from Ardent back to the chalet (snow permitting). We thoroughly recommend les Trois Ours and very much hope to come again.

Overall

As a returning guest at le trois ours we were very happy once gain with the chalet, it was nice to see the new carpets on the stairs as this made the chalet even more comfortable than before. We cannot fault this chalet for a home from home feel it has everything you could want for self catering. the chalet is suitable for families or groups of people who want a peaceful surrounding but beautiful views. The walk to the lake from the chalet is only five minutes up the track and this year was even more delightful due to the low lying mist at dusk. We managed to ski back to the chalet this year which was fun and very easy down from Argent and only takes around 15 minutes, also a great place totake children for sledging. The sledge we purchased last year is still at the chalet for others to enjoy when visiting so no need to take one or purchase as it fits 2 children on it comfortably. we will most definitely return again as it is one of favourite places to stay in Montriond/Morzine. I would not hesitate to reccommend this chalet to other guests looking for a great place to stay.

Overall

We had a wonderful fortnight in Chalet Les Trois Ours at the end of December 2014. It was the perfect location with space for our kids to run around, explore or sledge outside without having to worry about traffic in the lovely hamlet of Les Albertenes. It was very conveniently located near the Ardent Lift and Les Linderet ski school. The bedrooms were very comfortable and spacious. The bathrooms were modern and clean with plenty of hot water; some a bit tight on space but it was great that all the bedrooms had en suite facilities. The kitchen was functional but not fitted out to the same high specification as the rest of the chalet. Nonetheless it was a pleasure to cook in and the oven and microwave were superb. We would have appreciated a little more fridge space and better knifes! We comfortably entertained 8 for dinner on Christmas Eve. The Wifi worked well and we enjoyed the selection of films and games on offer. The laundry room was a great asset. The only thing that we would like to have changed is the hanging space in the hall. The owners had locked all the cupboards so we hung our wet ski gear off curtain rails - a portable clothes rail or hooks on the outside of the cupboard doors would have been really beneficial. Boots and gloves dried out well overnight on the heated floor. We had a magical Christmas at Les Trois Ours and will definitely return

Overall

Dear Ben & Beth We were very happy to be back at Trois Ours again this year. It really is a perfect chalet for a small family. Even after the long drive from Calais the kids were so excited to be back and declared the journey worth while! The welcome pack was great and meant we could immediately relax with a cup of tea / bottle of wine depending on our mood... We booked our ski-hire and ski-school through the contacts on your website and they worked brilliantly: On our first evening All Mountain Rental arrived with all the skis / boots / helmets for the kids exactly as requested so we were ready to go bright and early the next day. Each morning we drove the short distance to the wonderfully convenient Ardent carpark to catch the cable car up to Linderets. We arrived in Avoriaz comfortably on time for ski-school at 9:30 (we used Avoriaz Alpine Ski School who were English speaking and lovely - highly recommended!) We mostly self-catered, making full use of the well-equiped kitchen and DVD cupboard, but we also enjoyed what has become an annual tradition for us: a huge Raclette at the Clin d'Oeil in Morzine. We didn't eat at the Bout de Lac but note that it would be a lovely walk down by the lake to get there one evening (about 10 minutes) and plan to do that next year! Hopefully we will see you again in 2014, Louise

From The Franklins

Overall

Chalet Les Trois Ours is lovely, cosy chalet in a very pretty location. It is in a small hamlet which is a short walk to the Montriond lake where there are a couple of good restaurants... If you go at night then take a torch! We loved the fact that it was out of the main resorts (Montriond and Morzine) as it was lovely and peaceful and not at all commercial - there aren't any shops within walking distance, so you need transport. The chalet has a lovely garden surrounded by trees, and with the sound of the nearby river rushing past it's a really relaxing place to sit, or have a barbecue in the evening. We enjoyed having breakfast in the sunshine at the front of the chalet, where you can also look up at the mountains. It's a well equiped chalet and there's lots of storage space for bikes and skis downstairs, and the sofa is large and comfortable if you want to sit inside on cold evenings. We had a lovely holiday staying there, and would definitely stay there again.
