Chalet Dominique, now only €4000 from 14th February…

Chalet Dominique boasts a fantastic location in the centre of Morzine. The Pleney slopes and telecabine are less than 100 metres away and all the shops bars and restaurants are just around the corner. The chalet has a traditional alpine feel and is very well equipped with everything you need.

The chalet`s living and sleeping accommodation is shared between the two main floors of the chalet and a studio apartment on the lower ground floor.

The dining area is spacious and warm with an open fire adding to the cosy feel. The sitting area has plenty of comfy seating and is equipped with TV, DVDs, a docking station, some books and a few board games to keep everyone entertained. A small quiet reading area or breakfast room with a small dining table completes the living accommodation.

The kitchen is well equipped and large enough to make meal preparation a pleasure. A WC is located in the hallway leading to the garage.

Upstairs are four bedrooms, a bathroom, a shower room and a WC. The bedrooms on this floor comprise of three doubles (one of these can also be a twin) and a bunk room which is great for children.

The studio apartment completes the sleeping accommodation and provides a quiet haven from the rest of the chalet. The apartment has a double bed (can also be a twin) and a single bed, a shower room, WC and a small kitchenette.

The garage is an ideal storage area for bikes/skis and also houses a washing machine. Alptitude Chalets have a small store cupboard which is occasionally accessed through a back door in the garage. There are two/three parking spaces in front of the garage for guest cars.

We have had beautiful weather and perfect ski conditions for the last four days. Clear skies and creaky, grippy pistes have greeted the holiday crowds and even though it has been one of the most popular weeks of the year we have not encountered any queues that have given us too much cause for concern.

Due to a cancellation, we have a beautiful little self-catered chalet available from Sunday, 3rd March. Chalet La Petite Maison is a very well equipped chalet with three bedrooms. It is in a super location just five minutes from the village centre and 400 metres from the Pleney bubble.

With some of the best snow conditions for years in Morzine-Avoriaz, this little alpine gem is too good to miss. The snow seems to have been falling constantly now since the end of January. All the pistes are in excellent condition all over the Portes du Soleil and the ‘off piste’ conditions are epic. Half term guests have some lovely sunny conditions to enjoy this coming week and then more snow is forecast for next weekend.

Last night was cloudy in Morzine and at 8pm snow was falling heavily. This was a short lived period of snowfall but this morning it was clear that the snow had started again during the night. There is a thin layer of snow on the ground in Morzine town and although the roads are clear they are wet and a little slippery.

I expect there is snow on the road in Les Gets and I’m hoping for at least six inches up in Avoriaz. The forecast is for more snow tonight with hopefully another six inches before morning up at 1800m. With the lifts due to open in two weeks we’re keeping our fingers crossed that this will be a solid base for more snow to sit on!
